Bishop W.C. Martin

Movement Leader

Bishop W.C. Martin is an anointed pioneer and spiritual patriarch of the church-to-child movement in the United States.  Bishop Martin pastors Bennett Chapel, a small community church in Possum Trot in the piney woods of East Texas.  In 1997, the Holy Spirit moved Bishop Martin and his wife, First Lady Donna Martin, to adopt children nobody else wanted out of the foster system in Texas.  They did, and their congregation followed.  Twenty-eight families of tiny Bennett Chapel, regarded as a “poor” church by earthly standards, have adopted 77 children in faith by the power of the Holy Spirit.  The Lord’s mighty movement through the Martins and Bennett Chapel is one of the great – and too often untold – faith testimonies in America, with Bennett Chapel being a spiritual genesis place of the church-to-child movement in our nation.  The Lord continues to use Bishop Martin as a fierce movement evangelist stirring the hearts of churches across the nation to care for children and families in crisis.  We honor Bishop Martin as a spiritual godfather of the CarePortal platform.
